Boise State acceptance?

Alright folks, Boise State is definitely on my radar but how hard is it to get accepted there? Has anyone here applied and gotten in? What was your experience like? I'm not looking to stress myself out too much with super competitive colleges. Thanks!

Great! Boise State University is quite accessible for students. The institution has an acceptance rate of approximately 84%, making it somewhat competitive, but achievable for many students. This acceptance rate means roughly 4 out of every 5 applicants receive an acceptance letter.

That said, although Boise State may be a bit more accessible than highly competitive colleges, they are still looking for students who perform well academically. On average, incoming freshmen at Boise State have a GPA around 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, and SAT and ACT scores typically around the average range or slightly above. So it's important to demonstrate a solid academic performance in your high school years.

Don't forget, though, it's not just grades and test scores. Boise State, like most colleges, reviews applications holistically. They're interested in your extracurricular activities, leadership roles and experiences, and your personal essays. Effective personal essays can certainly help bolster your application, even if your scores or grades may be a little lower than the average.

As for what it's like to apply - the application process is fairly straightforward. You can use either the Common Application or Boise State's application. There is a modest application fee, but waivers are available for eligible students.

Remember to pay close attention to the application deadlines. For fall admission, early action deadline is typically around December, while the regular deadline extends till February. The roadmap may look a bit different if you're applying for spring term courses, so it's important to verify these dates on the university's admissions website.

Overall, I would say that Boise State University is a great choice if you are looking for a less competitive school that still offers valuable programs and opportunities. Best of luck with your application!
