Applying to multiple schools early decision?

Hey guys, I'm a junior and just starting to look at colleges. I know early decision can sometimes give you an edge during the admissions process, but does anyone know if it's allowed to apply to multiple schools through early decision, or am I required to pick just one? I'm having trouble deciding and appreciate any help. Thanks!

No, you cannot apply to more than one school Early Decision (ED). Early Decision is a binding agreement, meaning that if you apply ED to a school and are accepted, you are contractually obligated to attend that institution and withdraw all other applications. Therefore, you must choose only one school to apply to through Early Decision.

Since the decision is binding, it's crucial to reserve the ED option for a school that is unquestionably your top choice and is a good financial fit, as you will not have the opportunity to compare financial aid offers from other schools. If you're still undecided, consider Early Action (EA), which is non-binding, or Regular Decision for other schools.

Violating the Early Decision agreement (by applying to multiple ED schools or not withdrawing other applications after an ED acceptance) can result in the revocation of an offer of admission. Colleges share information about who has been admitted ED and may cross-reference their lists. Always adhere to the terms of the Early Decision agreement when you sign it.
