What's on the SAT test?

I'm going to start preparing for the SAT soon. What does the SAT consist of? I've heard that it has math and English sections, but are there specific topics that I should study? Thanks!

The SAT, as of Spring 2024, is a fully digital test divided into two main sections: Reading and Writing, and Mathematics. An important thing to note here is that all parts of the SAT are timed and you will need to manage your time effectively during the test.

The Reading and Writing section is further divided into two modules, each of 32 minutes, in which you need to complete a total of 54 questions. Here, your reading comprehension and vocabulary skills are tested. The Reading questions primarily revolve around passages taken from literature, historical documents, social sciences, and natural sciences. Writing questions usually include passages in which you are asked to improve grammar, usage, and punctuation.

The Mathematics section of the SAT also consists of two modules of 35 minutes each, encompassing a total of 44 questions. Unlike earlier years, the current SAT allows the use of calculators throughout the entire math portion. The Math section will include questions from advanced algebra, problem-solving and data analysis, and some questions from additional topics such as geometry and trigonometry.

While preparing, it's essential to understand the format and contents of the SAT thoroughly.
