Hello good people, I'm getting ready for my applications and UC Davis is quite high on my list. I need to know, what kind of GPA are they generally looking for? Any help will be great!
UC Davis, has the same minimum GPA requirements as all other UC campuses, 3.0 UC GPA for in-state students and 3.4 UC GPA for out-of-state students. For the entering class in Fall 2023, the middle 50% of admitted students had (Capped) UC GPAs between 4.03 - 4.27.
So, if you're within this range, you are statistically competitive from a GPA standpoint. However, if your GPA is slightly below this range, don't be discouraged. UC Davis looks at the totality of your application, including your extracurricular activities, leadership roles, personal essays, and coursework rigor among other things.
Remember that GPA is not the only deciding factor for admissions. The UC system is known for its holistic review process, so make sure the rest of your application is as strong as it can be. Consider your extracurricular involvements, how they align with your intended major or field of interest, and how you can convey your experiences and growth in your essays.
Lastly, be reminded that UC Davis is a test-blind school which means they do not consider SAT or ACT scores at all in the admissions process. Wishing you the best of luck with your application!
