Hello, one of the colleges I'm considering is UCLA and I was wondering about the typical GPA of their incoming freshmen. I've been working hard to maintain my grades and I just want to know if I am on track. Thanks, y'all!
Hello! To give you an idea, UCLA is a very academically selective university. For the 2022-2023 application cycle, which is the most recent one we have data for, the middle 50% range for uncapped UC GPA (weighted GPA for grades 10 and 11) was 4.37-4.74 similarly, the middle 50% GPA range on an unweighted scale (for grades 10 and 11), was 3.95-4.00. That being said, bear in mind that UCLA practices a comprehensive review process, which means they don't just look at your GPA but consider other aspects such as your extracurricular involvement and personal essays, among others.
It's great that you're working hard to maintain your grades. If your GPA falls within the stated range, you're likely on track academically. However, keep in mind that a strong GPA is just one piece of the application puzzle. Make sure to bolster other areas of your application to present the most holistic view of yourself. Keep up the good work!
