Average GPA for Rice University?

Rice University is one of the colleges I'm hoping to apply to. Anyone here knows about the GPA requirements there? I'm interested to know this to determine if Rice is a realistic option for me. Any input would be appreciated, thanks!

While Rice doesn't report exact figures for the average admitted student, based on peripheral metrics and year of experience, we can estimate that it is typically around 3.9+ on a 4.0 unweighted scale. This suggests that Rice predominantly accepts A students.

Rice's admissions process is holistic, which means they consider all aspects of your application, not just GPA. This includes, but is not limited to, rigor of your coursework, extracurricular activities, recommendation letters, test scores, and essays. For example, if you've taken a rigorous course load such as multiple AP or IB classes and you have a slightly lower GPA, you will still be a competitive candidate.

Also, the typical "qualifications or statistics" of admitted students can fluctuate each year depending on the applicant pool. So, don't be discouraged if your GPA isn't exactly near the average. If you feel your other aspects of your application are strong, consider applying to Rice still. Rice looks for well-rounded and passionate individuals, so highlight those qualities in your application! Good luck!
