CMC financial aid

Hi folks, I'm planning on applying to Claremont McKenna College (CMC) but worried about the financial part. Can anyone share their thoughts on CMC's financial aid? How generous are they? Is there anyone here who can share their financial aid experience with CMC?

Claremont McKenna College (CMC) is indeed known to be quite generous when it comes to meeting the financial needs of its students. CMC has a need-blind admissions policy for domestic students, which means that your financial situation will have no impact on your admissions decision.

The college itself states that they aim to meet 100% of demonstrated need for all admitted students. In other words, if you're admitted and demonstrate financial need, CMC will strive to create a financial aid package to cover that entire amount. These packages consist of grants, work-study opportunities, and loans, with the majority typically being grants which do not need to be repaid.

As far as experiences go, while I can't provide a first-hand account, it's generally reported that CMC works closely with students and families to understand their individual financial situations, even accommodating changes in financial circumstances. Do remember each financial aid package is personalized, so your award amount might look different based on your individual circumstances.

Finally, I would strongly recommend using the Net Price Calculator on CMC's website. This tool will provide you with an estimated financial aid award based on your family's financial situation, helping you get a better understanding of what your financial aid package might look like if you are accepted.

Keep in mind that any aid received can greatly reduce the cost of attendance and make a high-quality education more accessible despite the seemingly high sticker price. Good luck with your application!
