What are the requirements for KSU?

Hi guys! I've been looking at KSU as a potential college for me and I'm just wondering what their general admission requirements are. How much do they weigh GPA, ECs, letters of rec, etc? Would appreciate any information!

In terms of academic requirements, Kennesaw State University (KSU) takes a close look at the rigor of your high school courses, your cumulative high school GPA, as well as your SAT or ACT scores. As of the 2024-2025 academic year, KSU does consider standardized test scores in its admissions process.

1. GPA: The average high school GPA for incoming freshmen is around a 3.5. That said, keep in mind that KSU does accept students with a wide range of GPAs.

2. Standardized Test Scores: The middle 50% of admitted students generally have an SAT score between 1050-1250, and an ACT score between 19-25.

3. Course Rigor: KSU wants to see that you've challenged yourself with your course selection in high school. This means it's advantageous to have a good number of honors, Advanced Placement (AP), or International Baccalaureate (IB) classes on your transcript.

Regarding the other factors in the application, they are more commonly used for holistic review.

1. Extracurriculars: While KSU doesn't require students to have a laundry list of extracurricular activities (ECs), they can help to show what you're passionate about and how involved you can be on campus.

2. Letters of Recommendation: KSU doesn’t require letters of recommendation, but you're welcome to submit them if you believe they would aid in their understanding of your personal journey and potential. Strong recommendations can provide a more personalized dimension to your application.

Keep in mind that these are general guidelines and not strict cutoffs. If you fall short in one area, excelling in another could potentially offset it. Also remember that every application cycle can be somewhat different depending on the pool of applicants. Make sure your application showcases your authentic self and what you can bring as an individual to the KSU community.
