How Difficult is Mercer Admissions?

Hey all, I'm considering applying to Mercer University next year. Does anyone know how hard it is to get accepted? What's the acceptance rate or any other information that might be useful?

Mercer University, based in Georgia, is known for having moderately competitive admissions, with a recent acceptance rate hovering around 75%. It's certainly a numbers game, but holistic factors are also considered in the application process.

In terms of academic performance, the middle 50% range of admitted students' SAT scores is typically between 1190 and 1360, and for ACT scores, it's between 26 and 31. Having scores within or above these ranges can surely boost your candidacy. Also, pulling a solid GPA is crucial. Although the university doesn't officially report an average GPA, academically rigorous classes and strong grades therein could offer an advantage.

However, Mercer does review applications in a holistic manner. Although academics are imperative, the university also considers your extracurricular activities, leadership roles, letters of recommendation, and your personal essay. They appreciate students who've excelled in non-academic areas or have demonstrated a genuine passion towards community service, leadership, or any unique field.

Also, remember that doing well in an interview or writing an exceptional college essay can substantially improve your chances and make your application stand out.

Hope this helps and best of luck with your application!
