SAT Equation Sheet to memorize?

I've heard there's an equation sheet provided during the SAT, but I'd like to prepare beforehand. Does anyone have a list of what kind of equations might be worth memorizing for the Math section of the SAT?

Absolutely, preparing beforehand is always a wise initiative. While the SAT does provide a reference sheet for some formulas in the Math section, it certainly doesn't contain all the formulas you might need. Here is a list of some useful areas and formulas for the SAT Math section:

1) Algebra:

- Factoring Quadratics: ax² + bx + c = 0

- Quadratic Formula: x = [-b ± sqrt(b^2 - 4ac)] / 2a

- Exponent Rules: For instance, a^(m+n) = a^m a^n

- Logarithms: logb(a^n) = nlogb(a), and a^(logb(a)) = b

2) Geometry:

- Circle Area: A = pir^2

- Circle Circumference: C = 2pir

- Triangle Area: A = 0.5bh

- Pythagorean theorem: a^2 + b^2 = c^2 (for right triangles)

- Special Right Triangle values (like 30-60-90 triangle or 45-45-90 triangle)

3) Trigonometry:

- Sine, Cosine, Tangent values for common angles (30, 45, 60, 90)

- SOH CAH TOA (Sine = Opposite/Hypotenuse, Cosine = Adjacent/Hypotenuse, Tangent = Opposite/Adjacent)

4) Statistics:

- Mean = Sum of all values/Number of values

- Range = Maximum value - Minimum value

- Slope of line = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

This should cover the majority of concepts you'll need to recall swiftly during the SAT Math section. Make sure you also understand how to apply these equations in context, because the SAT frequently presents problems in a real-world context instead of straightforward computation. Good luck with your preparation!
