Is Purdue University part of the Ivy League?

Hey, kinda embarrassed to ask this but, is Purdue University considered an Ivy League school? I've heard some people talk about it like it is, but I can't find any official info saying so. Can anybody help me out here?

No, Purdue University is not part of the Ivy League. The Ivy League is a specific group of eight private institutions in the Northeast United States: Brown, Harvard, Cornell, Princeton, Dartmouth, Yale, Columbia, and the University of Pennsylvania. The name "Ivy League" originally referred to simply the athletic conference containing these eight institutions, but has become a more general term for prestige and academic excellent.

Purdue University, located in Indiana, is a part of the Big Ten Conference, which is comprised of mostly (although not entirely) larger, public Midwestern schools. While not in the Ivy League, Purdue is highly respected, particularly for its programs in engineering and computer science.

Overall, the term "Ivy League" pertains to a very specific group of schools, which are known for their academic rigor, but there are many schools outside this group that are also highly renowned and respected for their academic programs. I hope this overview clears up your confusion!
