Dare to Dream: The Highest SAT Score Ever?

Just as a fun topic, does anyone know what the highest SAT score someone has ever achieved is? I'm not talking super-scored, but just the straight-up highest single test score someone has achieved. Just curious.

While the College Board, the organization that administers the SAT, doesn't release information about individual high scores, it's known that a perfect score on the SAT is 1600. This score is achieved by earning an 800 on the Evidence-Based Reading and Writing section and an 800 on the Math section. The transition to the 1600-point scoring system happened in 2016.

Before 2016, however, the SAT was scored out of 2400 points, which included a Writing section. Though the same lack of specific high-score data applies here, a perfect score at that time would have been a 2400.

So, in answering your question, it's safe to assume that there have been individuals who've achieved these perfect scores. But remember, while achieving such a score is certainly impressive, it's just one piece of your college application. Many other factors, such as grades, extracurricular activities, and personal essays, are also very important.
