Does UGA prefer ACT or SAT scores?

Hello everyone, I'm looking into University of Georgia and was curious about their stance on SAT vs ACT. Do they favor one test over the other? What's their average ACT score like?

The University of Georgia (UGA) does not have a preference between the SAT and the ACT when considering applicants for admission. This is common among most colleges and universities in the U.S.—they find both tests to be valid measurements of an applicant's academic readiness and potential.

As of their 2023-2024 freshman cohort, UGA's middle 50% ACT composite scores ranged from 28 to 33. This means that 25% of accepted students scored below a 28 and another 25% scored above a 33. So if you're aiming to fall within this range or even above it, your ACT score would be quite competitive for UGA.

Remember, however, that standardized tests represent just one part of your application. UGA also takes into consideration other academic factors such as your GPA, coursework, and class ranking, along with your extracurricular involvement, leadership roles, community service, and more. It's important to ensure you present a well-rounded application that showcases all your strengths.
