MIT's SAT Score Range

Hey, wondering if any of you have an idea of the SAT score range at MIT. I just want to know where I need to aim for. Thanks a lot.

MIT is highly competitive and typically prefers high test scores. MIT once again is requiring first year applicants to submit standardized tests. If you're considering MIT and think your SAT scores can strengthen your application, you should definitely submit them.

For the class of 2025, the reported SAT mid-50% range for admitted students was 1500-1570. Thus, 25% of students scored below 1500 and 25% scored above 1570. This range gives you an idea of the scores of the middle 50% of admitted students, but remember it doesn't tell the entire story. MIT assesses applicants based on a variety of parameters, not just test scores.

And even though strong test scores can certainly boost your application, they alone don't guarantee admission, nor are they the sole focus of admissions officers. They'll also be considering your grades, course rigor, extracurricular involvement, essays, letters of recommendation, and other aspects of your profile when making their decision.

Aiming for a score within or above the mid-50% range can help, but ultimately, the goal should be to submit the strongest application you can overall. Good luck as you build your application!
