Standardized Test Requirements at Penn State?

Hey guys, do you know what the standardized test requirements for Penn State are? I've taken a few (APs, SAT, and ACT) but not sure what they exactly require or recommend. Thanks in advance!

Hello! Penn State's standardized testing policies can fluctuate from year to year, but as of now, Penn State is test-optional for the 2024-2025 application cycle. This means that they do not require the SAT or ACT, but if you feel that your scores reflect your abilities and accomplishments, you are still welcome to submit them.

In terms of AP (Advanced Placement) scores, while they aren't a requirement for admissions, they may provide some benefits post-admission. If you've received a score of 3 or higher on any AP exams, they could potentially earn you college credit at Penn State, which can save you time and money once you start your coursework. Remember, however, that the specific amount of credit you receive can depend on the subject and score, so you'd have to check Penn State's site for specifics.

So, in short, while you can submit your SAT or ACT scores if you believe they would strengthen your application, Penn State doesn't require them. And if you've done well in your APs they could help you earn college credit. Best of luck with your application!
