What's the deal with Rutgers New Brunswick SAT requirements?

Hey you all, I'm considering Rutgers New Brunswick as one of my top picks but I've been having a difficult time finding their SAT requirements. Yeah, I know most schools moved to test-optional because of COVID, but I'm curious if anyone knows what the typical SAT range is. Wanna see if my scores will add up. Any help would be awesome, thanks!

Sure, happy to help!

For the 2024-2025 application cycle, Rutgers University, New Brunswick is indeed still test-optional, which means you have the choice to submit test scores, but don't have to. However, you're smart to still be thinking about target SAT scores, as there are many instances where including a standardized test score with your application can still be a good idea. For detailed guidance on how to navigate test-optional policies, check out this blog post from CollegeVine: https://blog.collegevine.com/does-test-optional-mean-test-optional

In terms of a target range, the middle 50% of scores for students accepted to Rutgers varies slightly from school to school, within the broader university. The breakdown is as follows:

- School of Arts and Sciences: 1290-1490

- Rutgers Business School: 1350-1500

- School of Engineering: 1340-1510

- School of Environmental and Biological Sciences: 1270-1470

- School of Nursing–New Brunswick: 1280-1450

- Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy :1370-1510

- Mason Gross School of the Arts: 1230-1410

- School of Nursing–Newark: 1250-1380

- School of Management and Labor Relations: N/A

- Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy: N/A

Do note that being within or above the relevant range doesn't guarantee admission, as test scores are just one part of holistic admissions, and many other factors such as your GPA, extracurricular activities, and essays are also very important.
