Need Help with SAT and ACT Score Conversion

Hi all, I've taken both the SAT and ACT exams and I'm trying to figure out how to convert my scores. Anyone got a good resource, tool or method they've found useful for comparing these two scores?

Absolutely! The makers of both the SAT and ACT have published concordance tables, which are essentially charts that show how scores compare between the two exams. So, if you know your score on one test, you can look it up in the table to find the equivalent score on the other.

To give you an example, on the SAT, a composite score of 1600 (which is the maximum) is roughly equivalent to a composite score of 36 on the ACT (also the maximum). On the flip side, an SAT score of about 1060 would typically align with an ACT composite score of 21.

Remember, you can't directly convert individual section scores from the ACT to the SAT or vice versa, as the tests are structured differently. The SAT has a Reading and Writing section, and a Math section. The ACT, on the other hand, has four separate sections: English, Math, Reading, and Science. So, when we talk about score conversion, it's always in terms of full composite scores.

It's also crucial to remember that while these concordance tables provide a general idea, different colleges might interpret the scores slightly differently. Therefore, it's always good to check with the specific colleges you're interested in to understand how they interpret scores.

Good luck! Remember, both your ACT and SAT scores are just one part of your overall application to colleges, so make sure you're also focusing on your grades, extracurricular activities, letters of recommendation, and essays.
