Hi all, I've been looking into Ohio State as an option but haven't been able to find specific SAT requirements. Does anyone have an idea what SAT score range they typically admit? Cheers!
In the 2024-2025 application cycle, Ohio State University allows applicants to choose whether or not to provide standaradized test results, either SAT or ACT. Like many other universities, Ohio State doesn't have a strict SAT "cut-off." However, it is beneficial to look at the admitted student profile to understand where you might fit within the competitive landscape.
If we look at some of the recent data, the middle 50% SAT scores for admitted Ohio State students is commonly around 1250 to 1450. This means that 50% of admitted students had SAT scores within this range. Generally, anything above 1450 would be considered a highly competitive score, while anything below 1250 might be considered less competitive.
Remember though, these numbers merely serve as a guideline. Admissions officers look at a variety of other factors including your GPA, course rigor, extracurricular activities, essays, and letters of recommendation when making a decision on your application. A low SAT score might be offset by standout achievements in other areas, and vice versa. So, even if your scores aren't within the stated range, that doesn't automatically disqualify your application.
Good luck with your application, and feel free to reach out if you have any other questions!
