Best time of day for SAT - morning or afternoon?

Hey everyone! So I'm kind of a late sleeper, and I've been wondering about the best time to schedule my SAT. Is it better to get it out of the way first thing in the morning, or does anyone have experience with afternoon slots? Are there even any pros or cons to consider?

When choosing the best time of day to take the SAT, it primarily depends on when you personally feel most alert and focused. There's actually no afternoon option for the SAT. Traditionally, the test is administered in the morning, usually starting around 8 AM. That said, when the SAT shifted to a digital format, College Board began offering more start times but only within the morning hours till early afternoon. This is due to the test administration logistic protocols and to maintain standardized testing conditions nationwide.

Examine your own tendencies to see when you're most alert and functioning at your best level. If you find that you're not a morning person, you might benefit from selecting a slightly later start time if it's available when you register, and spend the morning winding up and preparing yourself so you're at your peak performance when the test begins.

A good method could be to align your study routine with the test schedule. By cultivating a consistent review routine that parallels your test timing, your brain will get accustomed to the rhythm.

Remember, everyone's different and the optimal time can vary from person to person, so go with what works best for you and stick to it. Good luck!
