What is the Typical GPA of a UC Riverside Student?

I've started eyeing UC Riverside as one of my top choices for college. Does anyone know what the typical admitted student's GPA is there? Or is there a minimum GPA requirement to be considered?

The University of California, Riverside, commonly known as UC Riverside, is a moderately selective institution. According to recent admissions statistics, the average high school GPA of admitted students is around 3.7 on a 4.0 scale.

However, don't get overwhelmed by these numbers - while GPA is undoubtedly a significant consideration, UC Riverside, like many universities, takes a holistic approach to the admissions process. This means they'll be looking at more than just your GPA; they consider factors such as your academic coursework rigor, the trend in your grades, extracurricular involvements, leadership roles, community service, and personal essays.

While there doesn't seem to be an explicit minimum GPA requirement for UC Riverside, you'd still want to aim for a strong academic profile as this will obviously improve your chances of admission. Also, remember that starting from the 2024-2025 application cycle, UC schools, including UC Riverside, are test-blind. This means they do not consider SAT or ACT scores at all in their admissions process.

In general, keep aiming for strong grades, especially in core academic classes, and try to demonstrate your interest and involvement in areas outside of the classroom. Good luck with your application!
