Average GPA for University of Pennsylvania

Hey guys, UPenn is definitely one of my reach schools. Does anyone know what the average GPA is for admitted students? Just trying to gauge whether it's a pipe dream or not.

University of Pennsylvania, like most Ivy Leagues, has highly competitive admissions. For the most recent incoming class, the middle 50% weighted GPA was roughly between 3.9 and 4.0 on a 4.0 scale. Having a GPA in this range indicates that your academic performance is in-line with previously admitted Penn students.

However, it's important to remember that a high GPA is not the only factor Penn looks at during the admission process. They take a holistic approach, considering things such as your course rigor, extracurricular activities, and essays, to assess how you might fit into and contribute to the university community.

Therefore, even if your GPA isn't exactly in that middle 50% range, it doesn't mean you have zero chance of being admitted. If you can demonstrate exceptional qualities in other areas of your application, you might still be considered. Conversely, even a perfect GPA doesn't guarantee admission. However, it's undeniable that having a GPA in the reported range will strengthen your application. Good luck with your application process!
