GPA requirements for West Virginia University?

Junior year, high school. I've got my eye on West Virginia University. My GPA is solid but not stellar. Any ideas on the GPA requirements there? Any insight appreciated.

West Virginia University (WVU) has a fairly accessible admission process when it comes to GPA. The average high school GPA of admitted students is somewhere around 3.63, which roughly corresponds to a grade average of B+. However, WVU does not have a strict GPA cutoff and tends to adopt a relatively comprehensive review of applications.

It's important to remember that while a strong GPA can boost your chances, it's not the only criteria for admission. Having a slightly lower GPA might not necessarily bar you from admission if you compensate with strong extracurriculars, good standardized test scores (if you choose to submit them), and compelling essays or personal statements.

That being said, if your GPA falls significantly below the average of admitted students, it could potentially be more challenging to gain admission. So aim to maintain or improve your GPA during your senior year. If possible, take rigorous classes where you can perform well, as colleges often consider the academic rigor of your high school classes too. Good luck with your preparation and application process!
