Admission requirements for UTD?

Hey guys, I'm starting to prep my application for UTD. Does anyone know what their admission requirements are? Would appreciate any help you can provide.

The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) has a standard set of requirements for admission, similar to many colleges.

1. Application: UTD uses ApplyTexas or the Coalition Application. Neither application is preferred over the other, so students can choose the application platform that suits them best.

2. High school transcript: Your high school academic record is one of the most important factors in admissions decisions. UTD will look at your courses and the grades you earned to assess your academic readiness for college.

3. Standardized test scores: UTD accepts either the ACT or SAT. For the 2024-2025 admissions cycle, UTD is continuing to review applications holistically but they are not a test-optional school. Applicants are required to submit ACT or SAT scores.

4. Essays - UTD requires that you submit an essay with your application. The specific prompts can be found on the ApplyTexas or Coalition Application when you start your application.

5. Letters of recommendation and resume of activities:

Although not required, UTD strongly recommends that you submit at least one letter of recommendation from a person who can testify to your ability to succeed at UTD. A resume or list of activities, honors or awards you've received also helps to provide a more robust picture of you as an applicant.

6. Application fee - There is an application fee of $50 for domestic students. If the application fee would present a financial hardship for you, you can request a fee waiver on the application platform you choose.

To improve your chances of admission, try to excel in rigorous classes, aim for high standardized test scores, and engage in meaningful extracurricular activities that align with your interests and future goals. Show your passion and dedication through your engagement and leadership in these activities.

Remember, admissions teams are looking beyond just strong numbers. They're interested in what makes you unique and how you'll contribute to their campus community. Providing detailed, personal and thoughtful responses in your essay and showcasing your activities outside of academics will help convey that. Good luck with your application!
