I'm definitely feeling the prep stress for the SAT. But one thing I keep hearing mixed responses on, what's the actual highest score you can achieve on the SAT? Bit confused here, thanks in advance!
As of 2024, when the SAT shifted to a fully digital format, the highest possible score is 1600. This score is derived from two sections: the Reading and Writing section, and the Math section. Each section is scored on a scale of 200 to 800, and the composite score is the sum of those two section scores. In other words, if you get a perfect score on both sections (800 on Reading and Writing, and 800 on Math), your composite score would be 1600, which is the maximum possible score. The good news is, while a high SAT score can bolster your college application, it is by no means the sole determinant of your chances of admission. Many variables, such as your GPA, extracurricular activities, recommendation letters, and essays also play a significant role. Good luck with your SAT preparation!
