Texas State University SAT and ACT Requirements

Hey y'all! I'm a junior looking at Texas State University. Does anyone know their SAT and ACT requirements? Also, are they more flexible about test scores due to the pandemic?

Texas State University has a holistic review process for admissions. Under this approach, they take into account your high school curriculum, performance in that curriculum, special talents, leadership, community service, socio-economic background, and family educational background.

As part of the holistic review process for the 2024-2025 application cycle, Texas State University has decided to keep a test-optional policy due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This means that you are not required to submit SAT or ACT scores for consideration in the admissions process although it can still be beneficial if you have a strong score.

Regarding scores, although they're not required, some data from past cycles could still give you an idea of the typical student profile. For example, for the 2023-2024 cycle, the middle 50% range for SAT scores was 990-1180, and the ACT range was 19-26.

Remember, these numbers aren't hard cutoffs but reflect the typical admitted Texas State student prior to the test-optional policy. But be assured that you can still be competitive for admission without test scores, particularly if you have a strong academic record in rigorous classes and other positive factors on your application. Good luck!
