Mean SAT Score at Yale University

Hey all, need some quick advice here. Does anyone know the average SAT score for admitted Yale students? I'm trying to figure out if my scores are within range.

Hello! Yale University, like many selective institutions, does not publish one specific average SAT score. However, they do release a middle 50% range for admitted students. This means that 25% of admitted students score below this range and 25% score above it, so this can be a good benchmark for understanding the competitiveness of your scores.

Looking at recent admissions data, the middle 50% SAT range at Yale is somewhere between 1500 to 1560 out of a possible 1600. If your score falls within or above this range, you could be considered competitive in this aspect of your application.

Remember, though, Yale has a highly holistic admissions process. While standardized test scores are important, they're just part of the equation. High scores alone won't guarantee admission, and conversely, if your scores are slightly below this range, it doesn’t automatically disqualify you either. Your grades, coursework, extracurricular activities, essays, and letters of recommendation all play crucial roles in your application as well.

If your score is significantly below the middle 50% range, and you believe you have time to improve it, you may want to consider additional test preparation. But keep in mind there's no such thing as a "good" or "bad" SAT score, only what is a good fit for your specific situation and the schools you're interested in.
