Hi all! So, I took the ACTs and got a 28. I'm wondering if this is good enough for UCLA? I mean, I know it's not terribly low, but it's UCLA... Do they have a minimum or average ACT score that they prefer?
It's wonderful that you're considering your ACT score as it relates to UCLA admissions, as it's a solid representation of your academic capabilities and often plays a role in admissions evaluation.
However, for the 2024-2025 application cycle, all the University of California schools, including UCLA, have adopted a test-blind policy. This means that these schools do not consider SAT or ACT scores at all in their admissions process. Therefore, your ACT score won't impact your chances of admission to UCLA.
But remember that there are other important factors that the admissions committee will consider while reviewing your application. This includes your grade point average, the rigor of your school curriculum, the impact and leadership of your extracurricular activities, your involvement in your community, your personal essays, and any special circumstances or characteristics that contribute to the diversity of the student body at UCLA. It's a comprehensive review, looking at your strengths and experiences in a number of areas beyond standardized test scores.
Keep focused on your studies and extracurricular activities, and put some thought into how you might share your unique story in your application essays. You've got this!
