SAT Score Statistics: What's the Average These Days?

Hello everyone, I'll be taking the SAT soon and I want to have a reasonable target in mind - can anybody tell me the current average SAT score? Thanks for your help!

The current average SAT score, as of the latest data from the College Board, stands typically around 1050-1060. This result combines the average scores from the two major sections: Math and Evidence-Based Reading and Writing. Each section has a scale of 200-800, so the total maximum score you could get on the SAT is 1600.

Just remember that your target score should ideally be a bit above this average if you're aiming for more selective colleges. It's a great idea to research the middle 50% SAT scores of the specific colleges you’re interested in to get a better idea of what score you should aim for. In the meantime, best of luck with your test preparation!
