AP Test Fees

Yo! I was wondering, does anyone know how much AP tests actually cost? I'm planning on taking a few and I'm trying to budget ahead.

Hey there! As of the current school year, the College Board, which administers AP exams, charges $98 per test in the United States, U.S. territories, and Canada), and $128 per test at schools elsewhere in the world. Note that College Board offers a $36 fee reduction per AP Exam for eligible students with financial need, although full fee waivers are unfortunately not available.

Note that if you decide to cancel or not take the exam after the AP Exam ordering deadline, there's a $40 fee. These prices are all subject to change annually, so be sure to check the AP College Board website for the most up-to-date information: https://apcentral.collegeboard.org/exam-administration-ordering-scores/ordering-fees/exam-fees

In case you're struggling to afford the AP exam fees, some states, districts, and schools also offer additional subsidies that can lower the exam fee, beyond the official reduction of $36. You should ask your school’s AP coordinator about what kind of financial assistance might be available to you. Happy studying for your exams!
