I'm knee deep in the college admissions process and Johns Hopkins is on my list of schools. I didn't take the SAT though, only the ACT. Does Johns Hopkins require the SAT as part of its application or can I roll with just my ACT scores?
For the 2024-2025 application cycle, Johns Hopkins University remains test-optional. This policy allows you to apply without submitting any SAT or ACT scores. However, if you believe your ACT scores are a strong point in your application, you can absolutely decide to submit them. Johns Hopkins will consider any information you provide that you feel best represents your abilities.
The decision to submit your ACT scores would be based on how those scores compare to the middle 50% ACT scores of previously admitted students. If your scores are within or above that range, it may benefit your application to include them. But remember, if you choose not to submit your scores, Johns Hopkins will not hold it against you - they place more emphasis on aspects like your coursework, grades, essays, and extracurricular involvements.
But to answer your original question, no, they do not require the SAT specifically. You can apply with just your ACT scores, or no test scores at all due to their test-optional policy. Best of luck with your application!
