Hey guys, I'm a junior and feeling a bit overwhelmed with the SAT looming overhead. I'm trying to plan out my studying schedule. When would you guys recommend I start studying? Want to make sure I'm maximizing my prep time without overdoing it.
Planning a balanced study schedule for the SAT is definitely a smart move. High school juniors typically take the SAT in March, May, or June. If you plan on taking it in March, it's recommended to start studying about 4-6 months prior, so around October of your junior year. If you're planning on the May or June test, you can start preparing in January.
Your study schedule should be determined by your current baseline score (take a practice test to determine this), your target score, and your time availability. Remember, do not force yourself to study every day. It's more productive to study 2-3 hours several days a week with breaks in between, rather than cramming too much into a short period. This provides you ample time to absorb and apply learned concepts. Good luck!
