Getting into MIT with my ACT

I need some advice! I'll be applying to colleges next year and MIT is my dream school. What ACT scores are they usually expecting from applicants? Thanks in advance.

MIT is known for its highly selective admissions process and typically attracts students with top-end ACT scores. In previous years, the middle 50% of admitted students typically scored between a 34-36 composite ACT score. This means that 25% of admitted students scored below a 34 and 25% scored a perfect 36.

That being said, remember that while a strong ACT score is important, MIT looks at your application holistically. This means they will take into account other factors such as your academic performance in high school, your extracurricular activities, essays, letters of recommendation, and demonstrated passion in your desired area of study.

Ideally, to be competitive, aim for the upper end of the middle 50% range or higher for your ACT score. However, also be sure to dedicate time to building your application in other areas. Involve yourself deeply in a few extracurriculars that genuinely interest you and demonstrate your intellectual curiosity and dedication.

Also, be sure to craft compelling essays that showcase who you are as a person beyond the numbers. This holistic approach will benefit your application much more than just focusing solely on one component. Good luck with your preparations for college applications!
