Options for International Students

Hey guys, I'm approaching my senior year right now and feeling a bit anxious, not gonna lie. I'm based outside of the U.S. and looking for colleges that value and offer exemplary support to their international student body. Can anyone throw in a few suggestions for such colleges?

Absolutely, I see why you're interested in colleges that offer strong international support. There are quite a few that are known for their commitment to a diverse and global campus.

First up is Yale University, which has a dedicated Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS) that provides resources for international students including pre-arrival information, orientation programs, and ongoing support throughout your time at Yale.

Columbia University also offers a robust support network for its international students, with services like English Language Programs and a special International Students and Scholars Office that organizes cultural events to make students from different national origins feel integrated and welcomed.

Stanford University is another institution with a comprehensive platform for international students. The Bechtel International Center there offers a wide range of services, from immigration advising to community events and workshops.

MIT also places a strong emphasis on international education. The International Students Office (ISO) provides visa support, personal advising, and numerous programs and events for students from across the globe.

Lastly, the University of Southern California (USC) is well-known for its large international student body. The university's Office of International Services offers an extensive variety of resources that cover learning English, adjusting to American culture, or finding housing, among other things.

While these colleges notably support international students, many other U.S. colleges also have comprehensive support systems for international students. Be sure to research the international resources at each college you are considering and perhaps reach out to existing international students to find out firsthand about their experiences. Good luck with your college search!
