Requirements for getting into University of Georgia?

Wassup y'all, hope the college grind isn't hitting too hard. So I've been looking at the University of Georgia, but there's just so much information about what they require. Could someone please break it down for me, like, what are the GPA and testing requirements to get accepted?

Hey there! I totally get the overwhelm, so let's break this down nice and easy.

For the University of Georgia (UGA), here's what you need to know about their admissions requirements:

Grades:

UGA doesn't specify a strict GPA requirement, but prospective students should aim high. The average GPA of students admitted in 2023 had a weighted high school GPA around 4.14. This is simply an average range, so if your GPA falls slightly below this, don't be discouraged. Course rigor is also significant. UGA looks for students who challenge themselves with advanced level courses, like Honors, APs, or dual enrollment.

SAT/ACT Scores:

UGA does require standardized test scores.

- For the SAT, the middle 50% range for admitted students is between 1230 and 1410.

- For the ACT, the middle 50% range is between 27 and 32.

Remember, these are ranges, not minimums. If your scores fall a little beneath these, try to strengthen other parts of your application.

Coursework:

UGA has specific course requirements. They expect students to have taken the following in high school:

- 4 years of English

- 4 years of Math

- 4 years of Science

- 3 years of Social Science

- 2 years of the same Foreign Language

Other Factors:

Outside of these academics, UGA values involvement in activities and the community. They also consider your personal essays, so make sure to put some time and thought into those.

Be sure to check UGA's website or contact their admissions office for the most up-to-date info and requirements. All the best with your application!
