What GPA do I need to have a good shot at Duke?

Hey y'all, I'm only a junior but I'm starting to think about colleges and I'm really interested in Duke. I know GPA isn't everything for admissions, but I'd appreciate if anyone here has a ballpark estimate of what range my GPA should be in to be competitive for Duke? Thanks!

In order to be competitively considered for Duke University, you ideally would have a high GPA—roughly in the range of 3.95 to 4.0 on an unweighted 4.0 scale. Many applicants to Duke have taken a rigorous course load, often with multiple AP, IB, or honors classes.

However, it is good to remember that GPA is not the only factor in admissions. Your coursework should demonstrate that you are prepared for Duke's academic rigor. Show a high level of proficiency in your field of interest, and strive for a GPA close to 4.0 while taking the most rigorous course-load you can handle that is offered at your particular school.

Extracurricular involvement, leadership positions, community service, essays, and teacher recommendations also play a crucial role. Make sure you have strong extracurriculars as well. High-quality extracurricular activities, especially in Tiers 1 and 2, can make you stand out.

This is just a rough framework though. There are always exceptions and each application is reviewed in the context of the opportunities that were available to that student. Take it as a starting point and strive to make every part of your application the best it can be.
