ACT Query

So I'm about to start studying for the ACT...but how many questions are there on the test? I want to develop my strategy to ensure I at least attempt all questions.

The ACT is split into four sections: English, Math, Reading, and Science, with an optional Writing section.

1. English: This section consists of 75 questions in 45 minutes, which equates to an average of 36 seconds per question. The questions will test you on English grammar, punctuation, sentence structure, and rhetorical skills.

2. Math: The Math section has 60 questions that you have to answer in 60 minutes. So, you effectively have 1 minute per question. The questions span from pre-algebra to trigonometry, but the bulk of the section tests algebra and geometry.

3. Reading: In the Reading section, there are 40 questions to be answered within 35 minutes, averaging 52.5 seconds per question. The questions are based on four reading passages, each with 10 questions.

4. Science: The Science section also has 40 questions that need to be answered within 35 minutes, so you also have 52.5 seconds per question in this section. Unlike the other sections, no outside knowledge is required for this part of the test. Instead, it's all about interpreting and analyzing scientific data presented in the section.

It's important to know that you don’t lose points for guessing on the ACT. Therefore, if you feel pressed for time, you should aim to answer all questions even if you're not 100% certain of the answers. Good luck with your studying! Let me know if you have any other questions about the ACT.
