Where exactly can I write my SAT?

The SAT is typically administered at high schools and colleges. The exact location of your test center depends on where you live and the testing date you choose.

Since the SAT is now fully digital, starting from 2024, you must still take the test physically at a designated test center. You can't take the test from home.

When you register for the SAT on the College Board's website, you will be asked for your ZIP code to help find the test centers closest to you. The system will then show you a list of available test centers for your chosen test date, and you can select from there.

While choosing a test center, consider the venue's proximity to your home, accessibility, and your familiarity with the place. It's crucial to pick a location where you'll feel comfortable and that is easy for you to reach on test day.

As a part of your test day prep, you could also consider visiting the test center before your SAT date. This will help you get familiar with the route, traffic conditions, and the surroundings, and alleviate any test day nerves related to unfamiliarity with the location.

Bear in mind that popular test centers can fill up quickly, so it's recommended that you register at your earliest convenience once you've decided on a test date. Lastly, the test center must be open and operating under normal conditions on the test day, so it would be beneficial to keep an eye on any potential announcements by the College Board regarding test center closures or changes.
