SAT Timing

Has anyone here recently taken the SATs? What I'm wondering is, how early do the testing sessions usually start, and about how long do they typically last? I'm trying to get a heads up so I can plan my test day properly. Cheers!

Hello there! When it comes to the SAT test day, the exam often begins at 8 a.m., and it is suggested that you arrive at the testing site at least 30 minutes before that, usually around 7:30 a.m. Leaving a little extra time for any unexpected delays is a good idea too.

As for the duration of the SAT, with the spring 2024 changes to the exam's structure, the test itself now lasts for about 134 minutes, with additional time for the check-in process, instructions, and scheduled breaks included. Typically, you can expect to be done by around 12:30 p.m.

Preparation for the SAT also involves knowing how long the test will last - not just for studying, but also planning meals and transportation. Good luck with your preparations!
