What are the SAT scores of accepted students at UCSD?

Hi everyone, I recently checked my SAT scores and they're decent but not amazing. Just wanting to gauge where I stand in terms of UCSD's accepted students. Do we have any stats or figures from previous years about average or median SAT scores at UCSD? Thanks!

While UC San Diego, along with all other schools in the UC system, went test-blind as of the 2024-2025 application cycle, meaning that these schools do not consider SAT or ACT scores at all in the admissions process, it might help you to have context from previous years when these scores were considered.

But remember – these scores are not a part of the current application evaluation at UCSD. The emphasis now is on your academic performance, the classes you took, and the rigor of your coursework, as well as your essays, personal insight questions, and extracurricular activities.

That said, for context, in the past, UCSD's SAT middle 50% scores were generally in the range of 1300 to 1520. Keep in mind that these scores represented the middle 50% of admitted students, meaning that 25% of admitted students scored below this range and 25% scored above. This is just to give you an idea of the academic caliber of students accepted to UCSD when test scores were still a factor in admissions.

Again, I must stress that these past ranges don't have bearing on current applicants like you, since UCSD, along with the whole UC system, no longer factors SAT or ACT scores into admissions decisions. It would be more beneficial for you to focus on other aspects of your application that UCSD does consider, such as your GPA, course rigor, personal insight questions, and extracurricular activities.
