Need info on Capella University Admissions

Watching stuff on Netflix turns out to be not enough. After some browsing, I got interested in Capella University. However, I am a bit confused about its admissions process. Could you all enlighten me about the process, requirements and deadlines?

Capella University operates on a different model compared to traditional universities. It offers an open-admissions policy, meaning there isn't a traditional, competitive admissions process. With that being said, there are still some requirements you need to meet based on the specific program you apply to.

For most bachelor's degree programs at Capella, you would need to have a high school diploma or the equivalent (GED). Additionally, you must be at least 24 years old, unless you're an active-duty military personnel or veteran, in which case, there isn't any age requirement. If you're under 24 and not in the military, you can still apply if you either have 60 previous college credits or if you qualify for certain exceptions (such as having an associate's degree).

The admissions process generally begins with a conversation with an enrollment counselor to discuss your goals and ensure that Capella’s program aligns with those goals. You'll then complete an online application and provide any required transcripts or documentation. Once all of the materials are reviewed, you'll receive a message informing you whether or not you're accepted.

For graduate programs, you'll need to have earned a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and meet certain program-specific requirements. These can vary quite a bit, so I would recommend checking their website or reaching out to an admissions counselor for specifics.

When it comes to deadlines, Capella University operates on a "quarter" system, with four quarters a year. You can start any quarter, and they accept applications throughout the year. Therefore, there are no strict deadlines as such, but it is recommended to apply at least a few weeks prior to the start of the quarter to ensure all your documents are reviewed and processed in time.

Remember, it's always a good idea to speak with an admissions officer at the university to ensure you meet all the requirements and get the most accurate and up-to-date information.
