Regarding Top SAT Scores

Hello, I'm really gunning for the best SAT score I can get. I'm wondering, what range or specific score can be considered among the 'best'?

The SAT is scored on a scale of 400-1600, with 1600 being a perfect score. While achieving a perfect score is a rare event, it can be regarded as the 'best' score you can get. However, anything within the top 1% of test-takers is also generally considered an excellent score. As of data for the class of 2021, an SAT score that falls within around 1530 and above is typically considered within the top 1%.

However, keep in mind that what's considered a 'good' or 'best' score can also depend on the particular colleges to which you are applying. For some highly selective schools, you may want to aim for scores in the mid-to-high 1500s to be within or above their 50th percentile ranges for admitted students.

Remember that while your SAT score is important, it doesn't define you as an applicant. A good score can enhance your application, but it's just one component that colleges evaluate.
