College Acceptance Letters Release Time?

I'm riding the struggle bus here a little, y'all. Do we know when colleges usually send out their acceptance letters? Is there some universal period that I should be stressing out more or can it vary per school? Thanks in advance, guys.

Each college has its own schedule when it comes to releasing admissions decisions. Here are some general timeframes you can expect:

- For students who apply through an Early Action or Early Decision program, decision letters are typically sent out in mid-December.

- If you apply by the Regular Decision deadline (typically January 1st or 15th), you can expect to receive an admission decision between late March and early April.

- Rolling Admission schools, on the other hand, make decisions as they receive applications, typically within 4-6 weeks of a completed application being submitted.

So, it can indeed vary quite widely depending on the school and the type of application used (early vs. regular). If you know the specific schools you've applied to, what I suggest doing is checking each college's admission webpage or reaching out to their admissions office to get the most accurate estimate of when they will be releasing admissions decisions. Alternatively, you can also sometimes find this information on student forums or CollegeVine’s website.

Remember that this can be a stressful time, but try not to stress too much. When you have the actual decision, then you'll know for certain and can plan accordingly. You've done the hard work in sending out your applications, now it's just a waiting game!
