Difficulty of gaining admission to Rutgers?

Hi folks, Rutgers University is one of my top choices for colleges and I'm trying to keep my expectations grounded. Does anyone have any idea about Rutgers acceptance rate? Is it as tough as the Ivy Leagues? Any feedback would be super helpful.

Rutgers University, specifically the New Brunswick campus, is not as selective as the Ivy Leagues but it's no walk in the park either. Ivy League schools typically have single-digit acceptance rates, while Rutgers New Brunswick has an acceptance rate that hovers around 60%. This means that for every 100 students who apply, roughly 60 are admitted.

Whereas Ivy Leagues often require near-perfect GPAs and top percentile standardized test scores (when not test-optional), Rutgers has more varied admitted student profiles. For comparison, the mid-50% SAT score for Rutgers is around 1200 to 1400 and the mid-50% ACT score is typically around 26 to 32.

Having said that, admissions is about more than just numbers. That's because colleges, like Rutgers, want to learn about who you are as a person—your interests, experiences, and what you could bring to their campus. So, be thinking about what makes you unique, and consider how you might convey that in your application.

Remember, admission to any school will differ by the individual and their unique profile. It's not only about meeting the minimum requirements but also how you stand out amongst other applicants. I hope these points give you some insights.
