What SAT Score is Ideal for Duke?

Hey everyone, restless junior here. So, I'm aiming for Duke but I am uncertain about the SAT Score they would find competitive. My goal is to put my best foot forward for next year's application. If anyone could share the average range or even a 'safe score', I'd be grateful!

Duke is a highly selective university, which means its applicants often have very strong SAT scores. As per historical data, the middle 50% of accepted students typically score between 1520 and 1570 out of 1600. That means 25% of accepted students scored above 1570 and 25% scored below 1520.

While it's good to aim for a score within or above this range, remember that your SAT score is just one part of your application. Duke will also consider your high school transcript, letters of recommendation, essays, extracurricular activities, etc. To really stand out, aim for a balance of solid academics and impressive extracurricular activities. That said, the higher your score, the better your chances, so do your best on the SAT!

P.S: Beginning Spring 2024, the SAT is fully digital, so make sure to familiarize yourself with the format if you haven't done already. You can use the Bluebook™ app to preview the digital SAT and take a full-length practice test.
