Hey everyone, I'm starting to think about applications for colleges, and I'm definitely applying to a few UCs. Do I need to complete the UC application, or can I just use the Common App? Any insight would be awesome!
Hello! The University of California (UC) system uses its own specific application, separate from the Common Application. You won't find UC schools in the list of colleges on the Common App.
The UC application is convenient in that you just need to fill it out once, and can then select which UC campuses you want to apply to. You only need to write the essays, fill out the personal information, and list your grades/extracurriculars once, but it will be sent to all the UC campuses you apply to.
Remember, the filing period for the UC application is from October 1 to November 30. Do your best to ensure all information is accurate and complete before the deadline. Good luck with your application!
