Hi folks, I'm really hoping to get into UC San Diego but I'm not too sure about the SAT requirements. What kind of scores are they typically looking for and how strict are they about it? Any help is appreciated!
For the 2024-2025 application cycle, UC San Diego, along with all the other UC schools, is actually test-blind. This means that UC San Diego does not consider SAT or ACT scores at all in their admissions process.
This followed a trend started by many schools due to the pandemic, but it remains in effect even now that the pandemic-related disruptions are starting to fade. The intent behind this decision is to reduce barriers to access for all students and to emphasize the review of other application components, such as GPA, extracurricular involvement, and strength of high school coursework.
It's still important to work hard in your classes and get involved in meaningful extracurricular activities. Good luck with your college application journey!
