Hey folks, the SATs got me stressed. As I'm shooting for a great score, what's the actual 'best' or maximum SAT score that one can achieve? Does anyone know how many students usually reach that height?
The highest score you can achieve on the SAT is 1600, which is composite of a maximum score of 800 in Mathematics and 800 in Evidence-Based Reading and Writing.
The College Board reports that only a very small number of students achieve a perfect score. More specifically, for the class of 2019, of the roughly 2.2 million students who took the SAT, about 7,000 achieved a perfect score – that's less than 0.03%!
Remember, though, that while a high score is a great boost, it's not the sole indicator of admission to a college. From extracurricular activities to grades and leadership roles, there's a full spectrum of elements in your profile that colleges evaluate. So, it's important to maintain a balance in your focus rather than zeroing in solely on obtaining a 'perfect' SAT score.
