What's University of Utah Admissions like?

Admission into the University of Utah is somewhat competitive but not overly so when compared to many other universities. Recent reports have indicated an acceptance rate of approximately 87%, meaning that most of the students who apply are accepted.

One thing to keep in mind is that the university uses a holistic review process, which means they consider more than just your academic performance. They will take into account factors like your extracurricular activities, letters of recommendation, and personal essays.

In terms of academics, average GPAs for admitted students tend to skew high - usually around 3.68. For standardized testing, remember that as of the 2024-2025 application cycle, the University of Utah is test-optional, which means submitting SAT or ACT scores is not required.
