Can you superscore the ACT?

Yo, was just curious about this ACT thingy. Is there some way to like, superscore the ACT? As in, use the best scores from different sections across multiple test dates? I've heard colleges might do this, but not entirely sure.

Hey there! You heard correctly. "Superscoring" ACT, as it is generally called, allows students to send their highest individual section scores, even if those scores were achieved on different test dates. The superscore is then calculated by averaging these top section scores.

But it's important to note that not all colleges accept ACT superscores. While more and more institutions are starting to adopt this practice, it's far from universal. It's always beneficial to research the specific policies of the colleges you're interested in beforehand.

For example, Stanford University, as of the 2024-2025 application cycle, accepts ACT superscores. They'll consider your highest scores in each section across all test dates. On the other hand, University of Southern California (USC) still doesn't consider ACT superscores.

One more thing, if you're applying to colleges that do superscore the ACT, when you send your scores, you will need to send all test dates. There isn't an option to send scores by section like with the SAT. Hope that helps!
