What's Duke University's average ACT score?

Hey guys, I'm hoping to apply to Duke University, but I'm not sure if my ACT score is up to par. Do any of you know what the average ACT score for Duke is? It'd really help me figure out what I need to aim for. Thanks!

Duke University is highly competitive and typically admits students with high ACT scores. For the 2022-2023 application cycle, the middle 50% ACT score range for admitted students at Duke is 34-35, which means that 50% of admitted students scored in this range.

While your ACT score is an essential part of your application, remember that Duke University takes a holistic approach to admissions, considering numerous other factors alongside your test scores, such as your GPA, course rigor, extracurriculars, and essays. However, given that Duke University is no longer test-optional and has resumed requiring standardized test scores, having a score in the 34-35 range could certainly be beneficial.

Still, keep in mind that statistically speaking, even if your score falls within or above this range, admission is not guaranteed, and if your score falls slightly below this range, admission is not out of reach either. It's always about the grand sum of your application components. Good luck with your application!
